Homestead Construction was contracted to design and build an art gallery for watercolour artist Alfred Memelink on the Petone foreshore. The three-storey building has an art gallery, residence, and art studio, with a total size of 500+ square meters.
The design of the building is based on Alfred's love of the sea, with marine features incorporated throughout. Given the exposure of the location, precast concrete was one main design elements.
Client Testimonial "From design stage and throughout the build project, the 'can do' attitude of the Homestead team together with an innovative and helpful approach, has been amazing to work with. The ability of the team to work around any challenges provided by the project and also building on a tight and exposed site on a busy arterial road has been admirable." Alfred Memelink
